Early reports and testing sightings suggest the Safari EV could offer a claimed range of around 700 km — higher than the typical 500–600 km figures discussed for competitors in this segment.
Design and Exterior Changes
The overall design of the Safari EV will closely follow the current ICE Safari. Key EV-specific updates include a closed front grille, a revised bumper, and new 19-inch aero-specific alloy wheels. The vehicle has been spotted multiple times during testing, and detailed information is now starting to emerge.
Battery Options and Expected Range
Like the Harrier EV and Curvv EV, the Safari EV is expected to offer 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs. These should deliver a realistic real-world range of approximately 500–550 km.A larger battery option looks possible. The Harrier EV claims 627 km with its 75 kWh pack, while the lighter Curvv EV claims 665 km with the same battery. As the biggest and heaviest of the three SUVs, the Safari EV would likely achieve a lower claimed range with the identical 75 kWh pack. For this reason, Tata Motors may introduce a new 80 kWh or 85 kWh battery pack. If that happens, the claimed range could approach 700 km. This remains an informed prediction based on current details and has not been officially confirmed by the company.
Drivetrain Setup
Lower variants are expected to feature a standard single-motor rear-wheel-drive configuration. Higher variants should get a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (often called quad-wheel-drive) setup. This will improve both off-road capability and acceleration, potentially bringing back some of the original Safari’s rugged 4×4 character in electric form.
Premium Features
The Safari EV is likely to carry over almost all the premium features from the Curvv EV and Harrier EV. Expected highlights include:

- Wireless charging
One of the most interesting features is Summon mode. Using the key fob, owners can move the car forward or backward remotely — particularly useful when another vehicle parks too close, making it hard to open the doors. The system can also handle automated parking: simply select the parking spot on the screen and the car parks itself.

- In-car drive-through payment via the touchscreen (for tolls or food outlets without using a phone)

- Tata’s iRA connected-car technology with built-in navigation in the instrument cluster

Launch Timeline and Expected Pricing
Production of the Safari EV is scheduled to begin in August.
