BMW has opened pre-launch bookings for the updated all-electric i7 through authorised dealerships across India, with online registrations of interest also available on the company’s official website. The move comes just over three months after the facelifted model’s global debut, giving prospective buyers an early opportunity to secure the flagship electric luxury sedan ahead of its official Indian launch.
While the broader 7 Series range includes combustion options, the focus for electric vehicle enthusiasts is firmly on the fully electric i7. BMW has not yet revealed the local variant list, exact launch date, or prices for the Indian market.
The mid-cycle update brings meaningful improvements to the all-electric powertrain. The previous entry-level i7 50 eDrive has been replaced by the i7 50 xDrive, which now features standard all-wheel drive. It uses a larger 112.4 kWh battery (up from the earlier 101.7 kWh pack) and delivers approximately 455 hp with 660 Nm of torque.
At the top of the range, the performance-oriented i7 M70 xDrive also gains the bigger battery. Power rises to 680 hp (from 650 hp previously), with torque climbing to as much as 1,100 Nm. These changes support improved range and performance. Globally, the updated i7 claims significantly better efficiency, with WLTP figures approaching or exceeding 700 km depending on the variant, thanks to the new sixth-generation cylindrical battery cells.
Charging capability has also advanced, with higher peak DC rates supporting faster top-ups. Exterior and interior design refreshes align the i7 more closely with BMW’s evolving Neue Klasse design language, featuring updated lighting, refined surfaces, and enhanced digital experiences inside the cabin, including advanced displays and AI-assisted features.
The outgoing BMW i7 currently starts at around ₹2.1 crore (ex-showroom) and goes up to approximately ₹2.58 crore depending on the variant. A modest price increase is widely expected for the updated model given the larger battery, added power, and technology upgrades.
BMW has not confirmed the Indian launch timeline, though industry reports suggest it could arrive as early as late August 2026. Local specifications and the exact model mix (which variants of the i7 50 xDrive and M70 xDrive will be offered) remain under wraps for now.
Interested customers can place pre-launch bookings at any authorised BMW dealership or register their interest online via the BMW India website. This early access process allows buyers to signal demand and potentially secure preferred configurations once full details are released.
The updated BMW i7 strengthens BMW’s position in the ultra-luxury electric sedan segment in India, offering greater range, refined performance, and cutting-edge technology for those seeking a pure-electric flagship experience. Official pricing, variant details, and the launch date are expected in the coming weeks.
