Hyundai Motor India is significantly boosting the convenience of electric vehicle ownership by integrating its myHyundai app with one of the largest networks of public charging points in the country. Through strategic partnerships with multiple Charge Point Operators (CPOs), the app now provides access to over 30,000 charging points nationwide.
This move addresses one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption in India — range anxiety and fragmented charging infrastructure — by offering a seamless, all-in-one solution for Hyundai EV owners.
The enhanced myHyundai app (with Bluelink connectivity) allows users to:
- Locate nearby charging stations on a live map
- Check real-time availability, charging speeds, and estimated pricing
- Navigate directly to the chosen station
- Initiate and monitor charging sessions
- Make payments conveniently within the app
This extensive coverage, achieved through tie-ups with various CPOs, gives Hyundai EV customers access to a vast majority of public chargers across cities, highways, and key destinations — far beyond Hyundai’s own network.
In parallel with the app integration, Hyundai is aggressively building its proprietary charging infrastructure. The company has outlined plans to install nearly 600 public DC fast-charging stations across India by 2030 (approximately seven years from the initial announcement).Key highlights of Hyundai’s own network:
- Focus on major cities and high-traffic highway corridors
- Mix of high-power chargers (including 150 kW, 60 kW, and 30 kW configurations)
- Progressive rollout, with early targets of around 50 stations by the end of 2024 and steady scaling thereafter
As of late 2025, Hyundai had already commissioned over 100 stations as part of this ambitious roadmap.
Hyundai’s dual approach — massive third-party access via the app plus its own reliable fast-charging backbone — creates a robust ecosystem that benefits both current and prospective EV customers.Advantages include:
- Wider reach: Even in areas without Hyundai-branded chargers, owners can easily find and use compatible public points.
- Better reliability: Hyundai’s own stations are expected to offer consistent quality, higher power output, and priority access or integrated billing for Hyundai vehicle owners.
- Simplified ownership: One app handles everything from vehicle status and service booking to charging — reducing the need for multiple CPO apps.
- Support for upcoming models: This infrastructure push will support the launch of more mass-market EVs from Hyundai in India.
By combining digital integration with physical infrastructure growth, Hyundai is positioning itself as a serious player in India’s EV transition. The strategy not only improves the day-to-day experience for IONIQ and other Hyundai EV owners but also contributes to the broader national goal of expanding charging infrastructure.
As India’s EV market continues to grow rapidly, initiatives like these will play a crucial role in accelerating adoption among mainstream buyers who need assurance of convenient and widespread charging access.
