Ather Energy has rolled out an advanced conversational audio software across its electric scooter lineup, marking a significant upgrade in rider-vehicle interaction. The Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer has introduced artificial intelligence-powered voice controls on its latest vehicle platforms, enabling riders to operate various scooter functions through natural spoken commands.
This new feature, named Voice on Ather, allows users to interact with their scooter using everyday language without needing to look at the touchscreen display while riding. By minimizing visual distraction, Ather aims to enhance rider safety, especially in heavy traffic conditions. Riders can now simply speak to navigate, play music, make calls, check vehicle status, adjust settings, or access navigation — all through seamless voice interaction.
The conversational AI system is powered by large language models trained specifically for Indian English and regional accents, ensuring high accuracy and responsiveness. It supports proactive voice feedback, providing real-time alerts on safety, battery status, route suggestions, and maintenance reminders. The software is being delivered via Over-The-Air (OTA) updates to compatible models including the Ather 450X, Ather 450 Apex, and Rizta Z.
With this launch, Ather Energy strengthens its reputation as a technology-driven brand in the Indian electric two-wheeler market. The introduction of natural language voice controls represents a step towards making scooters smarter and more intuitive companions for daily commuting. This development is expected to set a new benchmark for connected features in the competitive EV scooter segment.
Existing eligible Ather scooter owners are already receiving the update, with wider rollout progressing rapidly.
