Vietnamese mobility platform Green SM (Green and Smart Mobility), backed by Vingroup, is set to enter the Indian ride-hailing market on June 5, 2026. The all-electric cab service will directly compete with established players like Ola, Uber, and BluSmart by offering a fully electric fleet powered by VinFast vehicles.Green SM will commence operations in the Delhi-NCR region first, with plans for phased expansion to other major cities including Bengaluru and Hyderabad in the coming months.
As part of the broader Vingroup ecosystem, Green SM will exclusively use VinFast electric vehicles for its ride services. The fleet will prominently feature the Limo Green MPV, a dedicated taxi variant based on the recently launched VF MPV 7. This spacious, premium 7-seater MPV is expected to serve the higher-end “Green Car” segment, offering comfortable and silent rides for passengers. The company plans to deploy around 1,000 electric cabs in the initial phase, with ambitions to scale the fleet significantly by the end of 2026.
Green SM is expected to offer competitive ride fares, with early indications suggesting rates starting as low as ₹8 per kilometre. The company is also aggressively recruiting drivers, promising attractive earnings of up to ₹35,000–₹50,000 per month depending on trips and performance, along with insurance benefits and incentives. This driver-centric approach aims to quickly build a strong partner network in India’s highly competitive gig economy.
The entry of Green SM marks VinFast’s deeper push into the Indian market beyond vehicle sales. By operating its own ride-hailing service, the company can create steady demand for its electric vehicles while promoting green mobility. With India’s ride-hailing market growing rapidly and increasing focus on electric vehicles, Green SM’s launch adds a fresh, fully electric alternative for environmentally conscious customers in major metros. The official launch is scheduled for June 5, 2026, in Delhi-NCR. More details regarding the app, exact pricing, and booking process are expected to be revealed in the coming days.
