Tata Power has strengthened India’s EV highway infrastructure with a significant expansion on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. Its subsidiary, Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Ltd (TPEVCSL), in collaboration with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), has inaugurated new ultra-fast EV charging stations at the 63rd and 69th milestones on the Haryana stretch of the expressway.
Key Highlights of the Expansion
- 240 kW Ultra-Fast Charger at the 63rd milestone (Delhi to Mumbai direction) featuring four charging guns. This allows multiple vehicles to charge simultaneously, significantly reducing wait times.
- A second charging station has been established at the 69th milestone on the opposite carriageway (Mumbai to Delhi direction), ensuring bidirectional coverage for long-distance travellers.
Both stations are strategically located at modern Expressway Wayside Amenities (WSAs), making them easily accessible and convenient for EV owners undertaking the high-speed journey between Delhi and Mumbai.
This development addresses a critical need for reliable, high-speed charging infrastructure on one of India’s most important economic corridors. The 240 kW chargers can deliver rapid top-ups, enabling EVs to add substantial range in 15-20 minutes, depending on the vehicle model.
The expansion is part of Tata Power’s broader push to build a robust nationwide EV charging ecosystem. With the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway seeing increasing EV traffic, these new stations will help reduce range anxiety and make electric mobility more practical for inter-city travel
The partnership with IOCL leverages Indian Oil’s extensive network of fuel stations and wayside amenities, combining traditional fuel infrastructure with modern EV charging solutions. This collaboration is expected to accelerate the rollout of high-power chargers across key national highways.
With the government’s strong focus on electric mobility and the rapid growth of EV sales, such infrastructure upgrades play a vital role in supporting India’s net-zero ambitions. Tata Power, one of the country’s leading EV charging operators, continues to expand its Tata Power EZ Charge network, aiming to make long-distance EV travel seamless and dependable.
EV owners planning trips on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway can now look forward to faster, more reliable charging options in Haryana, marking another milestone in India’s EV infrastructure journey.
