Skoda has officially revealed the production version of the Epiq, its new entry-level electric SUV. Positioned as the Czech automaker’s smallest and most affordable EV to date, the Epiq slots below the Elroq in the lineup and aims to make premium electric mobility accessible to a wider audience.
The Epiq was first showcased as a bold concept in March 2024 and appeared in a near-production form at the 2025 Munich Motor Show. The fully production-spec model has now been unveiled, featuring Skoda’s “Modern Solid” design language in its purest form.
Battery Options and Powertrain
The Epiq is offered with two battery sizes and three power variants:
| Variant | Battery (Gross/Net) | Chemistry | Power | WLTP Range | 0-100 km/h | Top Speed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Epiq 35 | 38.5 / 37.0 kWh | LFP | 85 kW (114 hp) | 315 km | 11.0 sec | 150 km/h |
| Epiq 40 | 38.5 / 37.0 kWh | LFP | 99 kW (133 hp) | 315 km | 9.8 sec | 150 km/h |
| Epiq 55 | 55.0 / 51.7 kWh | NMC | 155 kW (208 hp) | 430 km | 7.4 sec | 160 km/h |
- DC Fast Charging: Up to 133 kW on the top variant (10-80% in ~23 minutes). The smaller battery supports up to 90 kW.
- All models feature an 11 kW AC onboard charger and front-wheel drive.
- The Epiq is built on the Volkswagen Group’s new MEB+ platform tailored for small, affordable EVs.
Design and Dimensions
Measuring around 4.17 metres in length, the Epiq is compact yet practical. It offers a 475-litre boot and impressive interior space for five passengers, thanks to the dedicated EV platform. Key design highlights include:
- Bold “Modern Solid” styling with clean lines and robust SUV stance
- Signature LED lighting elements
- Aerodynamic profile for efficiency
- Skoda’s signature practical touches (Simply Clever features)
It is expected to rival models like the Citroën ë-C3 Aircross, Renault 4 E-Tech, and Volkswagen ID. Cross.
Features and Practicality
As a true Skoda, the Epiq emphasizes space, functionality, and value. Expect:
- Generous rear legroom and headroom
- Multiple storage solutions and bag hooks
- Advanced infotainment with wireless connectivity
- Comprehensive safety suite including Level 2 ADAS
- Bidirectional charging (V2L / V2V) capabilities on higher variants
Pricing and Availability
Skoda aims to keep pricing competitive, with expectations starting around €25,000 (roughly ₹22–25 lakh in India, depending on market). In many European markets, it is expected to be priced similarly to the current Kamiq ICE model.
Production is set to begin in Spain (Pamplona) later in 2026, with customer deliveries starting in the third quarter of 2026.
Strategic Importance
The Epiq represents Skoda’s aggressive push into the affordable EV segment. By offering a compact, practical, and efficient electric SUV at an attractive price point, Skoda aims to capture first-time EV buyers and urban customers looking for a stylish yet sensible crossover.
With strong range (especially in the Epiq 55), fast charging, and Skoda’s renowned practicality, the Epiq could become one of the brand’s most important new models in the electric era.
