Royal Enfield Launches Its First Electric Motorcycle: Flying Flea C6 at ₹2.79 Lakh

Royal Enfield has officially stepped into the electric era with the launch of its very first EV motorcycle, the Flying Flea C6, in India. Priced at ₹2.79 lakh (ex-showroom), this model marks the debut of the company’s new dedicated electric sub-brand, Flying Flea. Buyers can also opt for the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, which brings the effective on-road entry price down to around ₹1.99 lakh, making it more accessible for urban riders.

Unlike traditional Royal Enfield bikes known for their thumping engines and retro charm, the Flying Flea C6 adopts a modern, neo-retro design with a futuristic edge. It draws subtle inspiration from the original 1940s Flying Flea but reimagines it for city mobility with a lightweight, agile build.

At just 124 kg, it is the lightest motorcycle ever produced by Royal Enfield, promising easy handling in congested traffic and nimble performance on twisty roads. The bike features a distinctive look with elements like a forged aluminium girder-style front suspension and an articulating mudguard. It will be available in two striking colours: Storm Black and Flea Green.

The Flying Flea C6 is powered by a 3.91 kWh lithium-ion battery paired with a mid-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor. This setup delivers:

  • Peak power of 15.4 kW (approximately 21 hp)
  • Peak torque of 60 Nm (translating to over 400 Nm at the rear wheel via belt drive)

Performance figures are impressive for an urban-focused EV:

  • 0-60 km/h acceleration in just 3.7 seconds
  • Top speed of 115 km/h

The claimed range stands at 154 km under IDC testing conditions, which should comfortably cover daily commutes and short weekend rides. Real-world range is expected to be around 100-110 km depending on riding style

Charging is convenient with a standard 16A socket. The battery can go from 20% to 80% in about 65 minutes, with multiple modes (Rapid, Standard, and Trickle) available. The air-cooled battery pack uses a magnesium casing with cooling fins for better heat dissipation and weight savings.

What Makes It Stand Out?

  • Lightweight construction — Magnesium battery housing and overall engineering keep the kerb weight low.
  • Urban practicality — High ground clearance (around 207 mm) and a relatively accessible seat height despite the narrow profile.
  • Modern features — Expect connectivity options typical of new-age Royal Enfield models, along with multiple riding modes for customisable performance.
  • Silent yet characterful ride — While it lacks the signature exhaust thump, the bike focuses on smooth, vibration-free acceleration and effortless city cruising.

The C6 is just the beginning. Royal Enfield has confirmed that the Flying Flea S6 — a scrambler-style variant with more off-road capability — will follow soon. The S6 is expected to offer additional features like longer-travel suspension and dual-sport tyres, broadening the appeal for riders who want a bit of adventure beyond city streets.

Bookings for the Flying Flea C6 open on April 10, 2026, at the brand’s first dedicated showroom in Jayanagar, Bengaluru. Initial deliveries are slated to begin by the end of May 2026, with a phased rollout to other cities across India.

This launch represents a bold yet thoughtful entry for Royal Enfield into the electric two-wheeler space — blending the brand’s legacy of characterful motorcycles with clean, efficient, and modern electric technology tailored for today’s urban riders.

Whether you’re a loyal Royal Enfield enthusiast looking to go electric or a new buyer seeking a stylish, lightweight EV with genuine presence, the Flying Flea C6 aims to deliver a fresh riding experience without compromising on fun or practicality.
