VinFast is set to expand its electric vehicle portfolio in India with the upcoming VF MPV 7, a practical 7-seater electric MPV that will be offered in two distinct variants tailored to different customer needs. The model has been teased recently, marking the Vietnamese automaker’s entry into the people-mover segment with a focus on both private buyers and commercial fleet operators
As mentioned, the MPV 7 will come in two versions. The taxi-oriented variant will be called Limo Green, while the version for individual customers will retain the MPV 7 branding (also referred to as VF MPV 7 in some markets). The Limo Green is designed primarily for ride-hailing and taxi fleets. It will likely feature a more basic specification list to keep costs down and maximise durability for high-mileage commercial use. This aligns with VinFast’s plan to launch its own ride-hailing service, Green and Smart Mobility (GSM), in India. The Limo Green is expected to form the backbone of the GSM electric taxi fleet, offering low operating costs, zero tailpipe emissions, and sufficient space for passengers and luggage.
In contrast, the private version (MPV 7 / VF MPV 7) will be positioned as a premium family MPV. It is expected to come equipped with a richer feature set, including enhanced styling, better interior materials, and additional comfort and convenience equipment suitable for personal use.
The VinFast MPV 7 / Limo Green measures approximately 4,740 mm in length, 1,872 mm in width, and around 1,734 mm in height, with a generous 2,840 mm wheelbase. It offers a 7-seater 2+3+2 layout, making it ideal for large families or group travel. Cargo space can expand to up to 1,240 litres with the rear seats folded.Power comes from a front-wheel-drive setup with a single electric motor producing around 201 hp and 280 Nm of torque. A 60.13 kWh battery pack delivers a claimed range of up to 450 km (NEDC). Charging support includes 11 kW AC and 80 kW DC fast charging, with the battery capable of going from 10-70% in about 30 minutes.Expected features on the higher-spec private MPV 7 version include:
- A 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support
- Synthetic leather upholstery
- Automatic climate control with rear vents and PM2.5 filtration
- Electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs
- Larger alloy wheels (up to 19-inch on premium variants)
- Multiple airbags, ABS, and other standard safety aids
The Limo Green taxi version is likely to get a simplified interior with durable materials, a basic audio system, single-zone AC, and essential safety features to prioritise reliability and cost-efficiency for fleet operators.
VinFast has already begun testing the Limo Green in India, with camouflaged prototypes spotted on local roads. The model is expected to launch in the coming weeks or by mid-April 2026, making it the brand’s third electric offering in the market after the VF 6 and VF 7 SUVs.
It will compete in the emerging electric 7-seater MPV space against models like the Kia Carens Clavis EV and BYD eMax 7. Pricing is anticipated in the range of ₹19.9 lakh to ₹23.9 lakh (ex-showroom, estimated), positioning it as an accessible electric people-mover option.
With the dual-variant strategy, VinFast aims to address both the growing demand for family EVs and the push for electric taxis in Indian cities. The integration with the upcoming GSM ride-hailing service further strengthens the commercial appeal of the Limo Green.
The VF MPV 7 and Limo Green represent VinFast’s practical approach to the Indian EV market — offering the same robust platform and electric powertrain while differentiating the experience for private owners and fleet operators. As details and final specifications are confirmed closer to launch, this versatile 7-seater could become a strong contender for buyers seeking space, efficiency, and zero-emission mobility.
