MG Sales Surge 24% YoY in February 2026: Windsor EV Tops Chart, Hector Posts Massive Comeback

JSW MG Motor India continued its strong momentum in the Indian automotive market, reporting total wholesale dispatches of 4,957 units in February 2026. This represents a robust 24% year-on-year (YoY) growth compared to 4,002 units sold in February 2025. On a month-on-month (MoM) basis, sales saw a modest uptick of about 2.35% from 4,843 units in January 2026.The performance underscores JSW MG’s balanced portfolio strategy, blending electric vehicles (EVs) with internal combustion engine (ICE) models amid rising consumer interest in sustainable and feature-rich options.

The MG Windsor EV once again led the sales charts, emerging as the brand’s highest contributor and solidifying its position as one of India’s top-selling passenger EVs. In February 2026, the Windsor EV recorded 2,599 units dispatched, marking a steady 6.9% YoY growth over 2,431 units in the same month last year.Launched as a segment-disrupting electric crossover with its innovative “Battery-as-a-Service” (BaaS) model, generous space, premium interiors, and Level-2 ADAS features, the Windsor has consistently driven MG’s EV volumes. Its appeal spans both private buyers seeking urban-friendly electrification and fleet operators prioritizing lower running costs.

The MG Hector delivered one of the standout performances of the month, with 1,204 units sold—a staggering 133.8% YoY surge from just 515 units in February 2025. The mid-size SUV, refreshed with updated styling, enhanced tech, and improved connectivity features, has clearly resonated with family buyers looking for value-packed premium options in the crowded segment. This sharp rebound highlights the Hector’s enduring popularity post-facelift and MG’s successful efforts to regain momentum in the ICE space.

The compact MG Comet EV contributed 699 units, reflecting continued demand in the affordable urban EV niche thanks to its nimble size, low ownership costs, and city-centric practicality. The ZS EV added 344 units, maintaining its presence in the premium compact electric SUV category.Other models like the Astor and Gloster played smaller supporting roles, rounding out the lineup.

JSW MG Motor India’s February results come against a backdrop of aggressive EV expansion and ICE revitalization. The brand has benefited from strong product momentum, competitive pricing, and growing dealership reach following the JSW partnership. EVs now form a significant portion of volumes, aligning with India’s accelerating shift toward electrification—driven partly by fuel price volatility and government incentives.

As the company gears up for potential new launches (including variants of the recently introduced Majestor D+ SUV) and deeper localization, analysts expect sustained growth through FY2026-27. With Windsor EV leading the charge and Hector surging back, JSW MG is positioning itself as a formidable player in both electric and conventional segments.

The March 2026 figures, typically boosted by year-end retail pushes and promotions, will be closely watched to gauge if this upward trajectory holds. For now, February’s 24% YoY leap signals confidence in MG’s evolving lineup and market strategy.
