Bijliride Accelerates Electric Mobility Revolution: Targets 150% Fleet Growth with Franchise Expansion to 25+ Cities

Bijliride, a leading SaaS-powered electric two-wheeler rental platform founded in 2020, has unveiled one of its most ambitious growth strategies to date. The company announced plans to significantly expand its franchise network across more than 25 cities in India, aiming for approximately 150% growth in fleet operations over the next 12 to 18 months.

This aggressive scale-up comes as Bijliride seeks to capitalize on India’s booming demand for affordable, sustainable last-mile mobility solutions—particularly among gig workers, delivery partners, and urban commuters looking to ditch fuel costs and emissions.

Currently operating a fleet of around 4,000 electric two-wheelers across key cities like Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai, Bijliride is targeting a massive leap to 10,000 to 15,000 vehicles in the coming period. This would represent a transformative increase, positioning the platform as one of the largest electric two-wheeler rental networks in the country.

Under its Franchise-Owned, Franchise-Operated (FOFO) model, the company aims to onboard up to 30 franchise partners by March 2027. These local entrepreneurs will manage regional fleets while benefiting from Bijliride’s proven technology stack, including fleet management software, battery swapping infrastructure, driver onboarding support, marketing assistance, and demand-generation tools.

The FOFO approach empowers partners to build scalable, impact-driven businesses with low operational overheads, strong brand backing, and access to a growing pan-India EV ecosystem.

The expansion is already underway, with six new franchise partners recently onboarded in Hyderabad. This initial phase not only strengthens Bijliride’s stronghold in one of its core markets but also signals intent to penetrate surrounding urban clusters and tier-2/3 areas for deeper reach.

Hyderabad’s success serves as a blueprint: franchises gain operational systems, tech-enabled support, and the ability to quickly deploy fleets tailored to local demand—whether for ride-hailing, food/goods delivery, or personal rentals.

Bijliride’s push aligns perfectly with national priorities under schemes like PM E-Drive and the growing gig economy. Electric two-wheelers offer:

  • Zero tailpipe emissions for cleaner urban air.
  • Significantly lower running costs (especially with battery swapping).
  • Earn-and-ride opportunities for gig workers.
