Porsche has expanded its all-electric Cayenne lineup with the launch of the new Cayenne S Electric, a high-performance mid-tier variant that bridges the gap between the base Cayenne Electric and the flagship Turbo model.
Unveiled on March 10, 2026, the Cayenne S Electric delivers a compelling blend of blistering acceleration, impressive efficiency, and everyday usability, making it an appealing choice for enthusiasts seeking more than the entry-level model’s 435 hp without stepping up to the extreme 1,139 hp Turbo.
The Cayenne S Electric features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup paired with a substantial 113 kWh gross-capacity high-voltage battery—the same pack used across the electric Cayenne family. This configuration provides:
- Standard output: 536 hp (400 kW)
- Overboost with Launch Control: Up to 666 hp (490 kW) – or 657 hp in some market specs
- 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph): 3.8 seconds (claimed; U.S. 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds with Launch Control)
- Top speed: 250 km/h (155 mph)
The rear motor benefits from oil cooling for sustained high performance, while features like standard Launch Control and optional Sport Chrono Package (with Push-to-Pass bursts) enhance dynamic capabilities. This positions the S as a sweet spot—significantly quicker than the base model (0-100 km/h in ~4.5–4.9 seconds) yet more restrained than the Turbo’s sub-2.5-second sprint.
Porsche claims a combined WLTP range of up to 653 km (approximately 405 miles), making the Cayenne S Electric the longest-range variant in the current lineup—outpacing even the more powerful Turbo by around 30 km thanks to optimized tuning and aerodynamics.Fast-charging support reaches up to 400 kW on compatible DC stations, enabling a 10-80% charge in under 16 minutes under ideal conditions. This rapid replenishment, combined with the generous battery size, ensures minimal downtime for long-distance drives.
Visually, the Cayenne S Electric stands out with subtle yet purposeful upgrades:
- Standard 20-inch alloy wheels
- Volcano Grey skid plates and protective elements for a more aggressive, purposeful stance
- Sharpened exterior details previously reserved for higher trims
Inside, it inherits the electric Cayenne’s modern cabin with high-end materials, advanced infotainment, and options like the new exclusive Interior Style Package (featuring two-tone accents in select markets).
Orders are now open in key markets, including the U.S., where the Cayenne S Electric starts at approximately $126,300–$128,650 (excluding destination fees), placing it neatly between the base Cayenne Electric (from ~$109,000–$111,000) and the Turbo Electric (from ~$163,000–$165,000).Deliveries are slated to begin by the end of summer 2026 in most regions, with global rollout following.
By introducing the S variant, Porsche strengthens the Cayenne Electric portfolio, offering buyers a balanced performance EV that retains the model’s signature driving dynamics, luxury, and practicality—while appealing to those who want thrilling acceleration without the Turbo’s extreme power or cost.As Porsche continues its electrification journey, the Cayenne S Electric emerges as a versatile flagship contender in the luxury electric SUV segment, blending supercar pace with real-world range and usability.
