VinFast Confirms Three Electric Models for India in 2026; Limo Green MPV to Debut in February

Vietnam’s electric vehicle powerhouse, VinFast, is significantly accelerating its India operations. Following the local launch of the VF6 and VF7 SUVs, VinFast India CEO Tapan Ghosh has officially confirmed that the company will introduce three new all-electric models in 2026.

This strategic expansion aims to broaden VinFast’s footprint beyond the premium SUV segment, targeting diverse consumer needs from large families to urban commuters.

1. The Limo Green: A Game-Changing 7-Seater MPV

The first of the trio to arrive is the Limo Green, an all-electric MPV scheduled for a February 2026 launch. This model is designed to bridge the gap between family utility and commercial ride-hailing excellence.
Performance: Expected to feature a 60.13 kWh battery pack, delivering a range of approximately 450 km (NEDC).
Power: Driven by a 201 bhp electric motor with 280 Nm of torque.
Charging: Supports DC fast charging, capable of going from 10% to 70% in just 30 minutes.
Market Position: It will compete directly with the BYD eMax 7 and upcoming electric versions of popular MPVs like the Kia Carens.

2. VinFast VF5: The Mass-Market Contender

Following the MPV, VinFast will launch the VF5 in Q2 2026. Positioned as a compact electric crossover/hatchback, the VF5 is set to be one of VinFast’s most affordable offerings in India, squarely targeting the high-volume “Punch EV” segment.

  • Specs: Globally available with two battery options (29.6 kWh and 37.23 kWh), offering ranges between 260 km and 326 km.
  • Interior: Features an 8-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch digital cluster, and a focus on cabin space thanks to its generous 2,514 mm wheelbase.
3. The VF3: Urban Micro-SUV

Rounding out the 2026 roadmap is the VF3, a rugged, two-door micro-SUV designed for city commutes. Expected to launch in the first half of the year, it will take on competitors like the MG Comet EV. With a high ground clearance of 191 mm and a compact footprint, it is tailor-made for navigating congested Indian streets.

Expanding the Ecosystem

Beyond product launches, CEO Tapan Ghosh emphasized a holistic approach to the Indian market:

  • Retail Growth: VinFast plans to double its network from 35 to 75 showrooms by the end of 2026, reaching Tier-3 and Tier-4 cities.
  • Charging Infrastructure: The company is partnering with local entities and Vingroup’s green mobility ecosystem to deploy widespread charging points.
  • Service Excellence: Investing heavily in technician training to ensure that after-sales support matches the brand’s premium identity.

“Our products are designed around real usage patterns and premiumness, aiming to deliver strong value for price-conscious Indian consumers,” stated Tapan Ghosh.
