Exponent Energy Opens First Retail Store in Bengaluru, Targets Direct-to-Driver EV Sales and Retrofits

Bengaluru, India – Exponent Energy, the Bengaluru-based rapid-charging EV startup, has taken a big step toward owning the last-mile customer experience by launching its first company-operated retail store in the Laggere area of the city.

Located in Nandini Layout (Tarun Arcade, Ground Floor, 3rd Block, opposite Dr. Rajkumar Punyabhoomi, Bengaluru-560096), the new Exponent Sales Point (ESP) Store is designed as a one-stop destination for auto-rickshaw drivers. Visitors can browse electric three-wheeler options, book test drives, get financing approved, and even retrofit their existing CNG or LPG rickshaws to electric – all under one roof. The company claims the entire retrofit process, powered by its recently launched Exponent Oto service, can be completed in just 24 hours.

The store showcases five electric three-wheeler models built in partnership with Montra Electric (TI Clean Mobility, Murugappa Group) and Kinetic Green. Every vehicle is integrated with Exponent’s proprietary 15-minute charging stack – comprising the e²pack battery, e²pump charging station, and e²plug connector – that uses off-the-shelf lithium-ion cells yet delivers full charges in 15 minutes. All vehicles come with an industry-leading 5-year or 3,000-cycle warranty and lifetime access to Exponent’s network of over 70 rapid-charging stations across Bengaluru.

Exponent Oto, the company’s retrofit arm, allows drivers to convert their existing ICE rickshaws to electric with zero down payment and flexible EMI plans. Exponent claims drivers can save up to ₹5,000 per month on fuel and maintenance after accounting for charging and loan costs. An assured buyback program after three years further reduces risk for drivers.
