As the buzz builds around the much-anticipated UP International Trade Show (UPTIS) 2025, kicking off today at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, attendees can look forward to a greener and more convenient experience. In a timely boost to sustainable mobility, three state-of-the-art EV charging stations have been inaugurated, ensuring seamless power-ups for electric vehicle owners amid the event’s high-energy proceedings.
he initiative, a collaborative triumph between the Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) and the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA), underscores the region’s commitment to accelerating electric vehicle adoption. Strategically positioned to cater to the influx of visitors, the stations are located at Alpha-1 (near Samrat Mihir Bhoj Park/City Park), KP-2 (near India Expo Mart), and KP-3 (near Sharda Hospital). Each site features six charging points equipped with fast chargers delivering 120 kW and 60 kW outputs, collectively capable of charging up to 12 vehicles simultaneously. With a total capacity of 540 kW, these hubs promise efficiency even during peak crowds at the trade show.
The rapid rollout of these facilities is nothing short of impressive. On September 12, GNIDA issued a directive mandating completion by September 22. Rallying its expertise and partnering with service providers M/s Roadgrid India Pvt Ltd and M/s Digiron India Pvt Ltd, NPCL sprang into action. In a mere 10 days, the entire network was up and running, transforming ambitious plans into operational reality just in time for UPTIS.
For EV drivers, the benefits are immediate and practical. A typical four-wheeler can juice up from 20% to 80% battery in as little as 30 minutes, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity—ideal for business delegates zipping between sessions. Adding to the appeal, the stations boast the lowest tariff in Greater Noida at ₹17 + GST per unit, making eco-friendly travel not just feasible but affordable.
To further democratize access, NPCL plans to weave these charging services into its robust digital ecosystem. Integration with payment platforms and invoicing systems will soon enable seamless transactions for over two lakh NPCL customers, turning routine recharges into a frictionless digital experience.
At the heart of this project is a well-defined partnership: GNIDA secures the land under a 10-year concession, while NPCL shoulders the infrastructure development. This synergy has already set a benchmark for public-private collaboration in urban electrification.Looking ahead, the duo isn’t resting on these laurels.
Looking ahead, the duo isn’t resting on these laurels. Expansion is on the horizon, with ambitions to incorporate smart load management for optimized energy distribution, renewable energy sources for a lower carbon footprint, and ultra-fast chargers reaching up to 240 kW. These enhancements will not only supercharge charging speeds but also align with Greater Noida’s vision for a more sustainable, efficient, and environmentally conscious mobility landscape. As UPTIS 2025 unfolds, these EV stations stand as a symbol of progress—empowering attendees to focus on innovation and deals, while quietly paving the way for a electrified tomorrow. For EV owners in the area, the message is clear: the future is charged and ready to go.
