Ultraviolette X47 Crossover Unveiled: A Tech-Laden Electric Adventure Tourer at introductory price of Rs 2.49 lakh

Ultraviolette, the Indian electric motorcycle manufacturer, has pulled the wraps off its second offering, the X47 crossover, an electric adventure tourer that blends rugged capability with cutting-edge technology. Priced at an introductory ₹2.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 7.1kWh battery variant, the X47 is positioned to compete not only with electric motorcycles but also with similarly powered petrol bikes. While the price of the larger 10.2kWh battery variant hasn’t been disclosed, it’s expected to cost around ₹1 lakh more, following the pricing strategy of Ultraviolette’s F77.

The X47 shares its electric motor with the F77, delivering 40.2bhp and an impressive 610Nm of torque at the wheel. This enables a 0-100kmph sprint in 8.1 seconds and a top speed of 145kmph. The bike offers a claimed range of 211km (IDC) with the 7.1kWh battery and up to 323km with the 10.2kWh pack, making it suitable for both urban commutes and long-distance adventures.

Built as an off-road-capable evolution of the F77, the X47 features a strengthened chassis, increased suspension travel, larger wheels, and upright ergonomics for enhanced comfort and control. Ditching the fairing for a naked, adventure-ready aesthetic, the X47 is designed to tackle diverse terrains while maintaining rider comfort.

What sets the X47 apart is its advanced tech suite. The highlight is Ultraviolette’s ‘Hypersense’ technology, a first-of-its-kind blind spot warning system for motorcycles. Utilizing a 77GHz rear radar, Hypersense detects vehicles in adjacent lanes, supports lane change assist, and provides rear collision warnings, adapting intelligently to the bike’s lean, pitch, and roll. The system is complemented by dual 1080p Sony cameras (front and rear) feeding into dual onboard displays, enhancing visibility and safety.

The X47 also incorporates Ultraviolette’s Violette AI, which processes over 3,000 data points per second, delivering real-time updates to a connected mobile app. This includes alerts for unauthorized movement or towing, ensuring peace of mind. Charging is managed by a 1.6kW air-cooled onboard charger—claimed to be the world’s most power-dense in its category—though the cable must be carried separately.

Riders can tailor the X47’s performance with four levels of traction control (including a fully-off mode) and five levels of regenerative braking. The bike also boasts an impressive 8,00,000 km battery warranty, underscoring Ultraviolette’s confidence in its durability. For adventure enthusiasts, the X47 offers a range of optional accessories, including knuckle guards, a touring visor, soft and hard-case panniers, auxiliary lights, body protection guards, and an infotainment screen.

Ultraviolette has also introduced a limited-edition Desert King variant, featuring a bespoke Khaki paint scheme and additional kit from the optional accessories catalog, catering to riders seeking a distinctive look and enhanced functionality.
