VinFast Launches VF7 Electric SUV in India at ₹20.89–25.49 Lakh

New Delhi, September 2025 – Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has officially entered the premium compact SUV space in India with the launch of its VF7 electric SUV. Priced between ₹20.89 lakh and ₹25.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the VF7 will serve as the brand’s flagship model for the Indian market and will be sold alongside the smaller VF6.

VinFast’s India Strategy

The launch of the VF7 marks a key step in VinFast’s strategy to establish itself as a serious player in India’s fast-growing EV sector. The company had earlier introduced the VF6 as its entry-level offering, targeting first-time EV buyers. With the VF7, VinFast aims to attract urban professionals and families seeking a more premium yet affordable electric SUV.

Design and Features

The VF7 carries a bold and modern design language, characterized by sharp LED headlamps, sculpted body lines, and a distinctive coupe-SUV profile. Inside, the cabin emphasizes space and technology, with a large central touchscreen infotainment system, advanced connectivity options, and a host of driver-assistance features.

High-quality sustainable materials and a minimalist layout underline VinFast’s focus on eco-friendly design and user comfort.

Performance and Range

While detailed India-specific specifications are yet to be fully disclosed, the VF7 is expected to be offered with both standard-range and long-range battery options. Globally, the VF7 delivers a real-world range of up to 450 km on a single charge, depending on configuration. It also supports fast-charging capability, enabling a significant top-up within 30 minutes.

Positioned as a Flagship

In India, the VF7 takes the mantle of VinFast’s flagship model, positioned above the VF6 in terms of size, performance, and features. This dual-model strategy allows VinFast to appeal to both budget-conscious EV buyers as well as those seeking a more premium electric SUV experience.

Competitive Pricing

With its price bracket of ₹20.89–25.49 lakh, the VF7 is positioned competitively against popular EVs like the Hyundai Kona Electric, MG ZS EV, Tata Harrier EV (upcoming), and BYD Atto 3. VinFast is betting on a blend of design, range, and technology to differentiate itself in this highly competitive segment.

Looking Ahead

VinFast’s entry into India reflects the company’s broader global ambitions. After establishing itself in Vietnam and entering markets such as the U.S. and Europe, the brand now sees India as a crucial growth market, given the government’s strong EV push and rapidly expanding charging infrastructure.

The VF7 launch signals VinFast’s intent to play a long-term role in India’s EV transition, with more models likely to follow as part of its expanding portfolio.
