VinFast has introduced a substantial price cut on its VF MPV 7 electric multi-purpose vehicle in India, bringing the ex-showroom price down to Rs 20.39 lakh. The reduction of Rs 4.1 lakh from the earlier tag of Rs 24.49 lakh is now reflected on the company’s official website and marks one of the more aggressive pricing adjustments seen in the nascent electric MPV segment.
Launched on 15 April 2026, the VF MPV 7 was VinFast’s entry into the seven-seater electric MPV category, positioned against rivals such as the BYD eMax 7. The original pricing followed the company’s “One India, One Price” approach, but the relatively high starting point appears to have limited demand in the months that followed. The latest revision is widely viewed as a corrective step aimed at improving the model’s competitiveness and widening its appeal among family buyers seeking a spacious electric alternative.
Under the hood, the VF MPV 7 is powered by a 60.13 kWh battery pack paired with a front-mounted electric motor that produces approximately 201 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. The powertrain delivers an ARAI-claimed range of 517 km on a full charge, which places it among the longer-range options in its class. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in around 10 seconds, providing adequate performance for both city driving and highway use. The vehicle is offered in a single, well-equipped variant, simplifying the choice for customers while ensuring a high level of standard features.
The revised pricing places the VF MPV 7 closer to other seven-seater electric offerings currently available in India. Models such as the Mahindra XEV 9S start from around Rs 20.65 lakh, while certain competitors sit higher. By narrowing this gap, VinFast hopes to attract buyers who had previously considered the MPV out of reach. The price cut also strengthens the brand’s broader presence in the Indian electric vehicle market, where it has been steadily expanding its portfolio beyond SUVs.
For prospective buyers, the lower entry point improves the overall value proposition of a vehicle that combines three-row practicality with zero-emission running. Combined with the claimed range and modern feature set, the VF MPV 7 now presents a more compelling case in a segment that is still finding its footing. As charging infrastructure continues to grow and buyer confidence in electric multipurpose vehicles increases, the adjusted pricing could help VinFast gain meaningful traction with the model in the months ahead.
