Kia has made a huge step forward in the Indian market with the introduction of the Sorento – its first strong hybrid car. The three row SUV offers great efficiency and practicality that you would expect from a premium offering. Building on their previous success, Kia has just launched another strong hybrid in India. This is the Carnival strong hybrid – a seven seater MPV. Pre-bookings are now available for the seven seater Carnival strong hybrid.
This means we could see this car officially launched in the near future. This is a perfect follow up after the Sorento and the brand continues to expand their hybrid options in India. The Carnival strong hybrid takes the brand into the premium MPV market with a strong hybrid option. It offers buyers a refined alternative to conventional diesels.
The strong hybrid will offer the same basic hybrid engine that was used in the Sorento hybrid. This uses a turbo petrol engine which combines with an electric motor and six speed automatic gearbox to provide drivers with a strong hybrid engine. The Carnival will share the same basic engine making it easier for the brand to utilise the hybrid engine which they know works well. However, the electric motor has been tuned to provide more power making sure the larger MPV isn’t lacking in performance.
This will be a huge selling point for buyers in India. The Carnival has always been a premium seven seater offering great comfort and space. Now with the addition of a strong hybrid option, buyers who don’t want to use conventional diesel can choose this option. The pre-bookings are currently open meaning interested buyers can get themselves in line.
Kia have launched a new hybrid very quickly. They launched the Sorento and now they have the Carnival strong hybrid. This means they are really committed to offering hybrid options. The Carnival strong hybrid will bring the benefits of the 1.6 litre turbo petrol hybrid engine into a new segment. With pre-bookings now open, the seven seater hybrid MPV will become the next hybrid car to be launched by the brand in India.
