BMW India has launched the facelifted BMW i7 electric sedan in India, with updated technology, improved driving range and enhanced performance on the flagship 7 Series EV. The updated BMW i7 is available in two variants, the i7 50 xDrive and the high-performance i7 M70 xDrive.The facelifted BMW i7 continues to combine luxury-car comfort with an all-electric powertrain, while the latest updates make the electric flagship more capable for both long-distance travel and performance-oriented driving.BMW i7 50 xDrive: 728 km RangeThe BMW i7 50 xDrive is the more range-focused version of the facelifted electric sedan, with a large 112.5 kWh battery pack and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system.
The electric powertrain produces 455 hp (461 PS) and 660 Nm of maximum torque, with the i7 50 xDrive able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds. One of the biggest improvements is its claimed WLTP range of up to 728 km (an increase of around 125 km compared with its predecessor), making the updated i7 considerably more suitable for long-distance journeys.In India, the BMW i7 50 xDrive is priced at Rs 1.95 crore and is being offered as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) model (with local assembly).
The top model in the facelifted i7 range is the BMW i7 M70 xDrive, which is the most powerful 7 Series ever produced.The performance-focused electric sedan develops an impressive 680 hp (689 PS) and 1,015 Nm of torque, with Launch Control or Sport Boost activated, torque output rising further to 1,100 Nm.
The BMW i7 M70 xDrive can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, with its top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h. Its claimed WLTP range is up to 686 km, and the BMW i7 M70 xDrive is priced at Rs 2.65 crore in India (unlike the i7 50 xDrive, the M70 xDrive is imported into India as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) from Germany).
